Chat Plus: Condos in Maui

Sunday, October 26, 2008

During our online chat (most Mondays at 2 p.m.), you ask and we answer your travel questions -- mostly. Here's one we couldn't get to last week.

Traveling with the family to a wedding in Maui. Rather than book several expensive hotel rooms, we are looking to rent a two- or three-bedroom condo for a week. Can you suggest a good Web site with listings?

Renting a private vacation home not only can cost less than a hotel but also can give you more space and flexibility, not to mention a kitchen (so you'll save on meals). Vacation Rentals by Owner (, with hundreds of listings in Maui, is a good place to start. Search by region, town, neighborhood and number of bedrooms. In Kaanapali, for example, on the island's west coast, a two-bedroom, two-bathroom condo that sleeps four to seven people goes for $175 a night.
