NBA Commissioner David Stern says the Dallas Cowboys' soon-to-be-completed, $1.1 billion stadium in Arlington, Tex., will host the 2010 NBA All-Star Game.

Stern announced the plans yesterday in a ceremony outside the American Airlines Center near downtown Dallas, where the Mavericks play. Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones also attended the ceremony.

If all goes according to plan, the event will set the record for the largest crowd ever to watch an NBA game, shattering the mark of 44,735 set at the 1989 All-Star Game, held at another Texas-size venue, the Houston Astrodome.

· ISIAH THOMAS: In White Plains, N.Y., a newly released police report indicates the person who called 911 about an overdose at Isiah Thomas's home believed the victim had stopped breathing.

The patient's name is redacted from the Town of Harrison report, which was released last night under a Freedom of Information request from the Associated Press.

In the report, a police officer says he went to the home of the former New York Knicks coach in the Purchase section of Harrison around midnight Oct. 23 in response to a report of "[blank] not breathing."

· LAKERS: Los Angeles signed C Andrew Bynum to a four-year contract extension for $57.4 million, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Bynum, who will make $2.8 million this season, will earn close to $42 million over the first three years of the extension, the newspaper reported. The fourth year will be a team option for about $16 million.

· PISTONS: Detroit and F Jason Maxiell agreed on a four-year, $20 million extension, a basketball official told the Associated Press on the condition of anonymity because a deal hadn't been signed.
