The Washington Redskins are among the teams free agent cornerback DeAngelo Hall is considering after clearing waivers yesterday, according to his agent, Joe Segal.
Segal would not comment on how many teams are pursuing Hall, or on specifics of offers, but said the former Virginia Tech star is intrigued by the possibility of signing with Washington.
"Obviously, the Redskins are a strong franchise and a winning team, and that's a significant criteria for DeAngelo," Segal said. "We're considering all the options and taking it one day at a time."
The Redskins declined to comment.
Hall, 24, was released by Oakland on Wednesday, just months after the Raiders traded second-round and fifth-round draft picks to Atlanta for him, then signed him to a seven-year, $70 million contract. By clearing waivers, the contract was voided.
Four or five teams are believed to be seriously courting Hall, who could make a decision by tomorrow, according to a source with knowledge of the situation. Hall would be willing to take a short-term deal, according to a source.
Hall, in his fifth season, was named to the Pro Bowl twice, but his production has slipped recently.
