Sports-focused social media company Citizen Sports has acquired a trio of social media application developers: Sportacular, Sport Interactiva, and FantasyBook. Terms of the deals were not disclosed. The SF-based company launched in 2005 as ProTrader, a stock market-style sports trading and information Website, and raised just over $10 million in a round led by Radar Partners.
Citizen Sports launched its first fantasy football app on Facebook in July, and the acquisitions of Sport Interactiva and FantasyBook add new fantasy sports (including baseball and soccer) content to its roster. Meanwhile, Sportacular expands the company's mobile footprint with an iPhone application. Jeff Hamilton and Jon Brelig, founders of Sportacular and FantasyBook, respectively, will join the company as full time employees. Release.
