A 42-year-old member of the Dale city volunteer fire department died yesterday while participating in an exercise that was part of entry-level firefighter training, officials said.
Cecilia Turnbough, a certified medical technician, had been a volunteer for eight years with the Dale City department and had recently begun firefighter training, authorities said.
She died during a routine exercise that involved maneuvering through a maze. No smoke or fire was involved, authorities said. her husband is also a member of the Dale City department.
