This week investors get to peek under the economy's hood. On Monday, a report on industrial production will be released, giving investors a sense of how much our nation's factories are producing (or not). On Wednesday, the market will get insight into how the Federal Reserve is thinking about the state of the economy when minutes from the Oct. 28-29 policymaking meeting are released. That same day, investors will also get a chance to examine inflation, when the Consumer Price Index is released, and to look at the housing market, with a report on housing starts. Thursday brings news on new unemployment claims. There is no major data scheduled for release Friday.
