Pr. George's Man Charged in 3 D.C. Bank Robberies
D.C. police and the FBI said yesterday that they have arrested a 26-year-old Prince George's County man and charged him in three bank robberies in the District.
Dewayne A. Edwards of the 7800 block of Goldfield Court in Clinton was charged with twice robbing the Adams National Bank in the 1700 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW. Those armed holdups occurred April 7 and Aug. 28, authorities said. He also was charged in the Sept. 29 robbery of the National Capital Bank in the 5200 block of 44th Street NW.
In a search of Edwards's home, authorities said, they found three firearms, clothing and other evidence linking him to the robberies.
