Carr made seven three-pointers and finished with a game-high 29 points, making several shots three or more feet beyond the new line.

"We just need to be sharper down the stretch," Carr said. "This is a learning experience for us, and now we know what's it's like to play with a 10-point lead down the stretch and how we have to play in order to maintain our lead."

ยท GEORGE WASHINGTON 71, BINGHAMTON 57: Reserve Noel Wilmore scored 16 points and Damian Hollis added 15 points and five blocks as the Colonials (2-0) won their 20th straight home opener.

George Washington held the Bearcats (1-1) to one field goal over a 15-minute stretch to pull away in the second half.

Rob Diggs added 13 points for the Colonials.

Dwayne Jackson scored 20 points and D.J. Rivera added 20 points and 10 rebounds for Binghamton, which was held to 31.4 percent (16 of 51) shooting from the field.
