Raymond Glendening, the son of former Maryland Gov. Parris Glendening, has been named national political director for the Democratic Governors Association.
West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin, who chairs the association, made the announcement on Thursday.
Glendening has served for the past year as the organizatin's deputy political director.
Before that, he worked as deputy national field director for New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson's presidential campaign.
