After a Redskins punt, Seattle botched its next series, with two penalties and a timeout in three plays. The penalties continued when Washington received the ball. Santana Moss cost his team 15 yards with an unnecessary roughness call, but made up for it by drawing a 21-yard pass interference call in Seattle territory. A 10-yard Campbell throw to Chris Cooley put the Redskins at the 3-yard line, and after Portis hurt his hip, Ladell Betts punched it in from the 1. The lead was short-lived, though. Seattle relied on an odd assortment of offensive players on its next drive, with Morris touching the ball five times in nine plays, capped by a four-yard touchdown catch. Washington tried to answer in the final 30 seconds, but Campbell ended the half with three straight incompletions near midfield.
