A 21-yard pass to Bobby Engram put Seattle at the Washington 10, and Hasselbeck converted on the next play by finding tight end John Carlson in the end zone. Campbell kept the Redskins' next drive alive with a 24-yard pass to Moss on third down, and soon Washington was inside the 10. But on a third and one from the 5, Mike Sellers dropped a would-be touchdown catch. Washington settled for a short Suisham field goal. A Lorenzo Alexander sack and a Chris Horton pressure forced Seattle to punt, and the Redskins were pinned at their 4. They escaped behind Portis, who gained 40 yards on the drive's first three plays. Two third-down conversions put Washington deep in Seahawks territory, but Betts's fumble gave Seattle a chance. Shawn Springs ended that by intercepting Hasselbeck's first pass.
