On how Washington has progressed since the season-opening game against the Giants:
"We've got some wins under our belt. We're a little more sure of what we're putting on the field. We've been competitive in a lot of different situations that we were not competitive in our first time around. I think that we're playing very hard. We know each other better. I'm pleased with the direction we're going, but I don't think we've arrived quite yet, especially on offense. We're still working on getting better."
On the Giants' 10-1 season:
"They find a way to win, and what they do so well -- and I think it's a tribute to the coaches and the players on their team -- is they find these little adjustments. When one area gets shut down, they find a way in another area to go ahead and win. And it's been offense, defense and special teams.
"That's what has made that team so good this season, and we have to be able to handle that, too. And we've handled it at times, those adjustments and pulling through and finding a way. But they've done it very consistently.
"Everybody is shooting for the defending Super Bowl champions, so for them to be able to do what they've accomplished this season so far is dramatic, to say the least."
On handling the Giants' pressure:
"They probably bring more secondary people [on the blitz] than the other teams we've faced in the recent past; that's probably the biggest difference. They run their fire-zone packages, and they'll bring secondary defenders more than other people."
