The Detroit Pistons are starting to look like the Detroit Lions -- they're always a wreck on Sunday.

For the fourth Sunday in a row, the Pistons played like their hapless NFL counterparts, losing to the Trail Blazers.

"Other than asking the league not to schedule us for any more Sundays, there's nothing I can do about this," Coach Michael Curry said.

The Pistons are 10-2 the rest of the week but have been outscored by an average of 17 points in four Sunday losses.

· NUGGETS: Denver lost its leader when F Carmelo Anthony took a seat in the second quarter after aggravating a sore right elbow that's been bothering him for two weeks.

Anthony scored just two points, halting his NBA-best streak of consecutive games in double figures at 221. That honor now goes to LeBron James, at 134 straight times.

Anthony, who was 1 of 4 from the floor in 14 minutes, hadn't been held below 10 points in three years.

· 76ERS: After seeming to hit its stride, Philadelphia has lost four straight to fall to 7-10.

The 76ers scored a season-low 78 points in a 24-point loss at Boston on Friday and has been held below 100 points in seven straight games.

"We've got to step it up," C Elton Brand said. "We've lost two games in a row where the other team has taken it to us."
