Running back Da'Rel Scott and center Edwin Williams were among nine Maryland football players recognized yesterday when the ACC announced its all-conference teams.

Scott and Williams joined Virginia tight end John Phillips and tackle Eugene Monroe on the all-conference first-team offense. Virginia Tech cornerback Macho Harris was named to the first-team defense. Terps punter Travis Baltz also received first-team honors.

Overall, after a season in which no team dominated conference play, none dominated the league's postseason honors, either. Georgia Tech placed four players on the first teams, and Maryland was among four Atlantic Division schools with three apiece. None placed more than two players on the offense or the defense.

The ACC's top three finishers in preseason player of the year voting were from Clemson, but only one made the end-of-season all-conference team: C.J. Spiller, who made it as a specialist.
