The advent of the holidays has caused the following to occur:
A song titled "The Twelve Days After Christmas" has been banned from sixth-grade performances in Plano, Tex., after a parent complained.
The song, which had been performed for years, includes the lyrics:
The first day after Christmas, my true love and I had a fight.
And so I chopped the pear tree down and burned it just for spite.
Then with a single cartridge, I shot that blasted partridge.
The parent, Pat Ewing, said he found the lyrics "disturbing."
