A 27-year-old Germantown man died this morning after he was hit while crossing Quince Orchard Road in Gaithersburg, Montgomery County police said.

Juan De Dios Gomez, of the 20000 block of Summer Sweet Terrace, was hit by a 2007 Honda CRV about 6 a.m. while crossing the southbound lanes of Quince Orchard Road near Firstfield Road, police said. The Honda driver, whom police said remained at the scene, was identified as Soraya Astrid Del Valle, 47, of Montgomery Village.

Police said the accident remains under investigation. Anyone who witnessed it can reach investigators at 301-840-2435.
