CHICAGO, Dec. 6 -- After not getting off the bench in five straight games, Wizards guard Juan Dixon finally saw game action Saturday night and the veteran made the most of the opportunity.

After Antonio Daniels left the game with a bruised tailbone in the third quarter, Dixon played the entire fourth and helped spark a Wizards comeback by making all three of his shot attempts and scoring eight points while adding four assists.

Dixon had started three games and was a regular part of the rotation under former coach Eddie Jordan, but saw his role reduced when Ed Tapscott replaced Jordan on Nov. 24. Tapscott has primarily relied upon a nine-player rotation that included guards Daniels and Nick Young off the bench behind starters Dee Brown and DeShawn Stevenson.

"I said that his opportunity would come and it came tonight," Tapscott said of Dixon after the game. "Juan came in and gave us good energy, hit some shots and did some good things for us when we really needed it. That's why you tell guys to always be ready."

Extreme Makeover

The Wizards and Bulls have undergone tremendous change since meeting in the first round of the 2005 playoffs, a series won by the Wizards, 4-2. Then-Bulls coach Scott Skiles was fired last season and now leads Central Division-rival Milwaukee while Eddie Jordan was fired as Wizards coach on Nov. 24.
