· The New at the Top feature in the Dec. 15 Washington Business section misspelled the name of the company of which Ted Davies is president. It is Unisys.

· A Dec. 13 Real Estate article misidentified the company at which Kathryn Falk is a vice president. It is Cox Communications, which is investing in the broadband Internet technology called DOCSIS 3.0.

· A Nov. 23 Book World review of Malcolm Gladwell's "Outliers" incorrectly said that the book discusses 50,000 hours as the amount of practice it takes to gain expertise in a field. The correct number is 10,000 hours.

CLARIFICATION

· A photo caption with a Dec. 16 article about the Food and Drug Administration's position on the chemical bisphenol A said that Nalgene announced that it was phasing out the use of the chemical in its plastic water bottles. The company says it has now stopped using the chemical.
