I want to get away during Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend. A friend suggested Miami, but it looks like there's not much to do there other than people-watch. Things I hate: beaches and people-watching. Do you think there's enough to do there for a four-day weekend?

You can have a blast in Miami without going near the dreaded beach. The key is to approach the city by neighborhood. Stay in an art deco hotel in South Beach, or the gorgeous, historic Biltmore in Coral Gables. Ogle the architecture, not the people. Have a swim at the funky Venetian Pool. Toss back a mojito in Little Havana. Visit Vizcaya, a stunningly beautiful mansion (and National Historic Landmark) with 10 acres of formal gardens and a hardwood hammock to explore. It's easy to avoid the beautiful people if you know where to go. Details: http://www.miamiandbeaches.com.
