Monica Wright scored 27 points yesterday to lead No. 17 Virginia to a 65-55 victory over Mount St. Mary's.

Lyndra Littles had her first double-double of the season, scoring 11 and grabbing 10 rebounds for the Cavaliers (9-2). Wright scored at least 20 points for her sixth straight game and also made three steals.

Hassanah Oliver led the Mountaineers (5-5) with 14 points and Mary Dunn added 11.

Wright (Forest Park) scored nine points in the final 5 minutes 54 seconds of the half to give the Cavaliers a 27-23 lead. Virginia did not trail the rest of the way. Both teams shot poorly for the game -- 37 percent.

Virginia ran its home record to 5-0 this season and is now 6-0 all-time against the Mountaineers.

· TENNESSEE 79, STANFORD 69: Shekinna Stricklen scored eight of her season-high 25 points in overtime and the No. 11 Lady Vols (9-2) upset the No. 3 Cardinal (8-3) in a rematch of the 2008 national championship game.

Stanford's Jeanette Pohlen knocked down a three-pointer to tie the game at 68 with 54 seconds left, but Stricklen entered the extra period hot, knocking down a long jumper and two threes.

· CONNECTICUT 83, FLORIDA STATE 71: Renee Montgomery shook off a shooting slump with seven three-pointers and 25 points to lead the No. 1 Huskies (10-0) to a victory over the Seminoles (9-4) in the finale of the Caribbean Classic at the Moon Palace Resort in Cancun, Mexico.

· TEXAS A&M 64, TCU 50: In College Station, Tex., Takia Starks scored 21 points to lead the No. 4 Aggies (10-0) over the No. 24 Lady Frogs.
