?Nuance powers Speeek! for iPhone: Nuance is powering the speech recognition capabilities of BB Softservice's Speeek! for the iPhone, which allows voice-enabled electronic dictionary app that translates Japanese to English or Chinese. Speeek! has about 1,500 phrases corresponding to eight situations, including navigating an airport, staying in a hotel, eating in a restaurant, seeking transportation, sightseeing and basic conversations. The application speaks the full translation back to the user, and provides potential replies the user might expect during the conversation. More here.

?Pinger Phone iPhone App: San Jose, Calif.-based Pinger launched a free app for the iPhone that allows people to manage phone contacts and friends on social networks, such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter. The app allows people to see their friends' presence on IM and social networks, which allows them to decide whether to call, text, IM, mail or even send a Facebook, MySpace or Twitter message. The Pinger Phone app is free and available here. Verisons for BlackBerry, Symbian, Palm (NSDQ: PALM) and Windows Mobile are coming.

?Blumo will reward a free mobile campaigns to a Super Bowl advertiser: Phoenix-based Blumo, a mobile marketing agency, will reward one free mobile marketing campaign to one of the advertisers airing a national commercial during the 2009 Super Bowl. All advertisers are eligible to apply, and Blumo will choose one recipient to provide the development and execution of the campaign. The recipient will have to pay the text-messaging frees associated with the campaign. The advertiser will have the choice of using auto response, digital collateral, mobile coupons, ringtones, wallpapers, trivia, voting, text to win, store locators, or any custom mobile deliverable. Advertisers can submit their inquiry to superbowl@blumo.com, and submissions must be received by Jan. 7.

?AT&T (NYSE: T) swaps assets with Verizon (NYSE: VZ) Wireless: AT&T said it has finalized its swap of wireless assets with Verizon Wireless, following regulatory approval from the FCC and Department of Justice. Under the terms, AT&T acquired some former Rural Cellular properties previously acquired by Verizon Wireless, including licenses, network assets and subscribers, in Vermont, New York, Kentucky and Washington. Verizon Wireless also acquired from AT&T some former Dobson Communications properties, including licenses, network assets and subscribers. Verizon also paid cash for some spectrum in a number of areas. These transactions satisfy the divestiture requirements related to AT&Ts acquisition of Dobson last year. Release.

?Mogreet gets Fox Mobile content: Mogreet, the company that allows you to send digital messages to someone's phone, has signed a licensing agreement to produce mobile video messages based on films from Fox Searchlight Pictures, including "Napoleon Dynamite," "Juno" and "Sideways," as well as to develop and publish several promotional mobile greeting cards based on other Fox Searchlight films.
