Mike Dunleavy isn't used to being a spectator, and it looks like he won't be one for much longer.
The Pacers guard is expected back within a week or so after missing all 33 games this season with soreness in his right knee.
"Obviously, it's been a long few months," Dunleavy told the Associated Press. "I'm on the mend, and I should be back soon. I'm looking forward to it."
The Pacers start a five-game road trip today at Denver. Dunleavy hopes to be in the lineup before the Pacers return to Conseco Fieldhouse to play Detroit on Jan. 14.
· RAPTORS: F Jermaine O'Neal and G José Calderón missed the Raptors' game against the Magic because of injuries.
O'Neal, who has missed three straight games with a sore right knee, is averaging 14 points and 7.0 rebounds. He scored a season-high 36 points in a Dec. 26 win at Sacramento, but left a Dec. 29 loss at Golden State after just nine minutes because of flulike symptoms and has not played since.
Calderón left Friday's home victory over Denver early in the second quarter after straining his right hamstring on a drive to the basket late in the first. It's the same injury that sidelined him for two games in November.
· GRIZZLIES: Memphis G Steve Francis and F Darius Miles, obtained last month, were available for the first time yesterday against the Mavericks. Francis was on the inactive list, while Miles dressed and played the final 1 minute 46 seconds.
Miles, signed as a free agent on Dec. 13, has been practicing with the team while serving a 10-game suspension for violation of the league's drug policy. The 6-foot-9 forward went through preseason training camp with the Celtics but was cut before the start of the season.
