Lakers' Odom Is Day-to-Day With Injury

Thursday, January 8, 2009

Tests showed Lakers F Lamar Odom's right knee injury is not serious, and he is day-to-day.

Odom, injured late in the second quarter of Tuesday night's 116-105 loss to New Orleans, was examined by team physician Steve Lombardo yesterday. An MRI exam revealed a bone bruise in the knee.

Odom didn't travel to last night's game at Golden State but may return tomorrow against Indiana.

· SUNS: C Shaquille O'Neal missed the Suns' game last night against the Pacers because of a back injury.

Phoenix Coach Terry Porter said O'Neal's lower back didn't bother him during practice Tuesday but was hurting during yesterday's shoot-around.

· BUCKS: C Andrew Bogut missed Milwaukee's game last night against Philadelphia because of back spasms that Coach Scott Skiles acknowledged aren't getting much better.

Skiles said doctors have told him there's nothing structurally wrong with Bogut's back but couldn't give a timetable on when he might return.

· HEAT-GRIZZLIES TRADE: Miami traded G Shaun Livingston and cash to Memphis for a conditional second-round pick in the 2012 draft. Livingston was then waived by the Grizzlies later yesterday.

Memphis also waived F Darius Miles, who was trying to make a comeback after a two-year absence following knee surgery.

· THUNDER-NUGGETS TRADE: Oklahoma City acquired another first-round draft pick, along with G Chucky Atkins, in a trade that sent seldom-used C Johan Petro to Denver.

Denver also got Oklahoma City's 2009 second-round pick in the deal.

· CLIPPERS: Two hours after announcing they had acquired Hassan Adams from the Raptors for a future conditional second-round draft choice, the Clippers waived the swingman.
