Here are some venues that plan to show Barack Obama's presidential inauguration live in events open to the public. Charges, where known, are listed.
· Friendship Baptist Church, 900 Delaware Ave. SW, Washington D.C. Doors open at 7:45 a.m.
· In Alexandria, a Jumbotron will show the events in Market Square at the City Hall building, 300 King St. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
· Rockville is opening its council chambers at City Hall, 111 Maryland Ave., to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
· AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center, 8633 Colesville Rd. in Silver Spring, will be broadcasting the inauguration on its large screen. Free tickets will be available Jan. 12 at the theater box office starting at 1 p.m. Limit is four per person.
· DC for Obama is hosting an event at Station 9 Restaurant & Lounge, 1438 U St. NW, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A $10 fee will cover entry and refreshments throughout the day.
· The Carolina Kitchen Bar and Grill, 6501 America Blvd., Hyattsville, is the site of an event sponsored by the Hip Hop Caucus, The Source magazine, and Dave & Ray Entertainment. Doors open at 9 a.m.
· The Washington Ethical Society, 7750 16th St. NW, Washington, D.C., will be open to its neighbors from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
