18 Dalmatian Pups, But No Cruella in Sight
· It wasn't 101 Dalmatians -- but the 18 puppies born in England to a Dalmatian mother is believed to be the largest litter ever for that breed of dog.
The pups were born last month to a Dalmatian named Button, a daughter of one of the canine stars of "102 Dalmatians," the sequel to Disney's "101 Dalmatians."
Button's owners, Nicola and Adam Morley, are just now giving the public a look at the litter.
Button nurses six of the pups at a time.
"She's been really good," Nicola Morley said of Button. "She's awake most of the time. She's hardly slept at all, actually. All she wants to do is be with them."
The Morleys and their 17-year-old son, Michael, take shifts to care for the 12 males and six females.
Nobody knew Button was carrying 18 puppies until she began delivering them.
How do the Morleys tell them apart? Each newborn had a dab of nail polish -- all different colors -- put on its head!
The family is keeping one pup; the rest will be given away or sold.
