ASSAULTS

SHADY GROVE RD., 16000 block, 3:30 p.m. Dec. 29. Yelling and cursing, a male created a disturbance at a flooring business. He was asked to leave and then twice tried to strike a person with his vehicle, allegedly because he saw the person write down his license plate number. He then drove away. The man was later arrested.

ROBBERIES

SHADY GROVE RD., 16100 block, 1:39 a.m. Dec. 25. Three men in the parking lot of a fast-food restaurant attacked a man and robbed him of cash. The assailants fled on foot.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

CALIFORNIA CIR., 6000 block, Dec. 28 to Dec. 29. A Global Positioning System device was stolen from a vehicle entered by breaking a window.

DARNESTOWN RD., 10000 block, Dec. 24 to Dec. 26. An attempt was made to enter an art studio by force.

DEWEY RD., 11800 block, Dec. 26 to Dec. 27. A Global Positioning System device was stolen from a vehicle entered by breaking a window.

ELMCROFT BLVD., 800 block, Dec. 23 to Dec. 24. Property was stolen from a vehicle entered by force.

ERTTER DR., Dec. 28 to Dec. 29. A pair of sunglasses and several CDs were stolen from a vehicle.

FREDERICK RD., 16200 block, 6:53 p.m. Dec. 23. Speakers were stolen from a car in a hotel parking lot entered by breaking a window. Based on a witness account, an arrest was made.

GAINSBOROUGH RD., 10700 block, Dec. 23 to Dec. 26. Property was stolen from a school entered by force.

GRAND CHAMPION DR., 800 block, Dec. 26 to Dec. 27. A Global Positioning System device was stolen from a vehicle entered by breaking a window.

DEXTER AVE., 2100 block, 10:20 p.m. Dec. 26. Five men, one of them armed with a gun, attacked two pedestrians and robbed them of property from their pockets.

16TH ST., 8600 block, 11:30 p.m. Dec. 26. Four males attacked a woman walking to her car, knocking her to the ground and threatening her with a handgun. After a struggle, the assailants fled with property in a four-door vehicle.

EAST WEST HWY., 1200 block, 10 p.m. Dec. 23 to 1 a.m. Dec. 24. Property was stolen from a residence.

GEORGIA AVE., 10200 block, 10 a.m. Dec. 25 to 3 p.m. Dec. 26. A man was seen entering a convent building. Nothing was reported missing.

PENDLETON DR., 3300 block, Dec. 23 to Dec. 24. Property was stolen from a vehicle entered by force.

TENBROOK DR., 10500 block, 2:20 to 2:26 p.m. Dec. 22. Two men entered a residence by force, took property and fled.

VEIRS MILL RD., 11100 block, 5:03 p.m. Dec. 23. In a parking-lot shooting incident that police said was gang-related, a male sustained non-life-threatening injuries and two people were injured by shattered glass. Two females and three males were arrested.

VILLAGE GATE DR., 14800 block, and 14900 block, Dec. 23 to Dec. 24. Property was stolen from three vehicles, two of which were entered by force.

WINDMILL LANE, 1200 block, 2:39 a.m. Dec. 25. Property was taken from an occupied residence. A male wearing a ski mask fled when confronted. There was no sign of forced entry.

FAROE CT., 4400 block, Dec. 28 to Dec. 29. An attempt was made to steal a 2007 Dodge Caravan.

INDEPENDENCE ST., 4300 block, Dec. 28 to Dec. 29. A 2007 Suzuki GSX-R1000 motorcycle was stolen.

EARHARDT CT., 18000 block, 2 a.m. Dec. 25. Two men outside a billiards hall were attacked by a group of more than a dozen people.

ROBBERIES

APPLE RIDGE AND MONTGOMERY VILLAGE AVENUES, Dec. 25. Four men attacked a pedestrian and robbed him of property.

DIAMOND AVE. E., 100 block, 8 p.m. Dec. 30. A customer in a restaurant argued with an employee, then left. He returned with a male accomplice, who demanded cash at knifepoint. When the employee called police, the male with the knife fled. The customer was arrested.

RIDGELINE DR. AND MONTGOMERY VILLAGE AVE., 11 p.m. Dec. 26. Four men attacked a pedestrian and robbed her of a bag. SENECA RIDGE DR., 10600 block, Dec. 29. Four men tried to rob a pedestrian at gunpoint. No property was surrendered, but the victim lost his cellphone when he fled.

WALKER'S CHOICE AND STEDWICK ROADS, Dec. 26. Four men robbed a pedestrian of property.

CONTOUR RD., 18200 block, Dec. 26. Property was stolen from a school entered by force.

DIAMOND AVE. W., 400 block, 1:15 a.m. Dec. 27. An attempt was made to steal a Global Positioning System device from a vehicle. Two males fled empty-handed when confronted by the vehicle's owner, who was alerted by an alarm.

HARBOR TREE COURT, Dec. 15 to Dec. 29. A residence was entered by force. Nothing was reported missing.

OAKMONT ST., 8700 block, Dec. 24 to Dec. 29. Copper piping was stolen from a construction site storage shed at a school.

QUINCE ORCHARD RD., 600 block, Dec. 25 to Dec. 26. Cash was stolen from a restaurant entered by force.

HUNGERFORD DR., 700 block, 12:30 p.m. Dec. 28. A camera and a digital music player were stolen from a vehicle at a car wash.

LOFSTRAND LANE, 600 block, 3 to 4 p.m. Dec. 19. A radio faceplate was stolen from a vehicle.

PICCARD DR., 1600 block, 3:50 to 3:56 a.m. Dec. 30. A residence was entered by kicking in the front door. Nothing was reported missing.

RIDGWAY AVE., 5700 block, 8:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 29. A credit card and a checkbook were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a rear window. Two of the missing checks were later cashed.

WASHINGTON ST. N., 1 to 100 block, 9:30 p.m. Dec. 24 to 10:30 a.m. Dec. 29. A camera, a projector and a laptop computer were stolen from an office entered by prying open a front door.

ANNE ST., 1000 block, 10:55 p.m. Jan. 3. Two males robbed a man walking from his residence to a vehicle at gunpoint. The robbers fled in a dark-blue four-door vehicle.

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 7600 block, 10:50 a.m. Jan. 3. Two males robbed a business of cash, then forced a female worker into a bathroom. The assailants fled in a gray or silver four-door vehicle, possibly a Mitsubishi Mirage.

14TH AVE., 7200 block, 8:22 p.m. Jan. 2. Two men demanded property from a pedestrian and threatened him at knifepoint. The pedestrian resisted and was able to escape after being punched once in the head. The assailants fled empty-handed in a white four-door vehicle.
