BALTIMORE RD., 800 block, 9:15 p.m. Dec. 31. A person was assaulted at a residence.

ROBBERIES

ROCKVILLE METRO STATION, 11 p.m. Dec. 29. Two men demanded cash from a person. After refusing to cooperate, the person was shot.

ROCKVILLE METRO STATION, 9:31 p.m. Jan. 1. Three people robbed a male of cash and a hat. One person was arrested.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

ALEUTIAN AVE., 13200 block, 5 to 5:20 a.m. Dec. 31. An attempt was made to break into a residence. Nothing was reported missing.

ASHLEY RD., 11300 block, Dec. 31. Coins were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

BROADWOOD DR., 300 block, 11:45 p.m. Jan. 1. A male teenager tried to force open a toolbox in a truck. When confronted by the owner, the teen fled empty-handed.

CONGRESSIONAL LANE, 200 block, Dec. 26 to 29. A vehicle was entered by breaking a window. Nothing was reported missing.

CONGRESSIONAL LANE, 300 block, Dec. 29. Cash and keys were stolen from a vehicle entered by breaking a window.

EDMONSTON DR., 200 block, Jan. 6. A Global Positioning System device was stolen from a vehicle entered by breaking a window.

HUNGERFORD DR., 800 block, 12:20 p.m. Jan. 4. An attempt was made to enter a business by forcing open a front door. Nothing was reported missing.

MCAULIFFE DR., 1800 block, 11:30 p.m. Jan. 1. CDs were stolen from a vehicle. A male carrying CDs was seen fleeing the area.

PARKLAWN DR., 12400 block, 4:27 a.m. Jan. 1. A business was entered by force, setting off an alarm. Nothing was reported missing.

PICCARD DR., 1600 block, 3:50 a.m. Dec. 30. Two males tried to force their way into an occupied residence, then fled in a dark-colored Mazda. Nothing was reported missing.

ROCKLEDGE DR., 6400 block, 11:45 a.m. Dec. 29. A woman who was about to get off an elevator was distracted by two males, one of whom dropped items near her. She later discovered that her wallet was missing.

COLESVILLE RD., 10100 block, 11:45 p.m. Jan. 5. A man purchased a beverage as a gas station was about to close, then struck an employee and robbed him of cash at gunpoint.

DUNWOOD DR., 4200 block, 6:50 p.m. Jan. 2. Three males robbed a male of a wallet at gunpoint. They also demanded his car keys, but he refused. They fled on foot.

GEORGIA AVE. AND BONIFANT ST., 8:25 a.m. Jan. 5. Two men threatened a man at a bus stop and robbed him of cash. They fled with a male accomplice.

NOVEMBER CIR., 1500 9:30 p.m. Jan. 1. Six male teenagers attacked a pizza deliveryman and robbed him of cash at gunpoint.

OLD COLUMBIA PIKE, 11700 block, 8:45 p.m. Dec. 29. Two men threatened two youths and robbed them of a skateboard and other property.

PERSHING DR., 700 block, 6:30 p.m. Dec. 30. Five males surrounded a pedestrian. One assailant pushed a sharp object against his back, then robbed him of a wallet.

PINEY BRANCH RD., 8500 block, 6:30 p.m. Jan. 3. A gunman and a man with a knife knocked a woman to the ground and robbed her of a purse.

PINEY BRANCH RD., 8800 block, 1:30 a.m. Dec. 31. Several males attacked two men in a parking lot, then robbed them of their wallets at knifepoint.

QUEBEC TERR., 1000 block, 12:05 p.m. Jan. 2. A man in a laundry room robbed a woman of property at knifepoint.

16TH ST., 8600 block, 8:10 p.m. Jan. 3. A person attacked a beer-and-wine store employee and demanded cash. The assailant and two accomplices then fled empty-handed in a waiting green Ford Taurus.

GEORGIA AVE., 13600 block, 4 p.m. Dec. 31. Two men armed with a screwdriver and a knife demanded cash from a male acquaintance. The man with the knife cut the male on the hand. The assailants fled empty-handed.

UNIVERSITY BLVD., 2700 block, 2:30 p.m. Dec. 31. Two men knocked a male to the ground and robbed him of property from his coat pocket.

WENDY LANE, 3900 block, Jan. 2. Three youths stole a car that had been parked with its engine running. The car crashed into a vehicle at the intersection of Layhill and Briggs roads. After being recognized by the motorist they had collided with, the three were arrested at the scene.

WADE AVE., 800 block, 2:53 p.m. Jan. 9. Cash was taken from a residence entered by breaking glass in a back door.

FLOWER AVE., 8600 block, 10 p.m. Jan. 9. A male in a parking lot threatened a pedestrian at knifepoint. Another male then emerged from behind a vehicle and grabbed the victim's property. The assailants fled on foot.

NEW HAMPSHIRE AVE., 6800 block, 3:30 p.m. Jan. 10. Three gunmen robbed a restaurant of cash and customers of cash and property. A female employee was struck with a handgun, and a shot was fired.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

ALLEGHENY AVE., 6500 block, 5 to 8:09 p.m. Jan. 14. Property was stolen from a vehicle.

CARROLL AVE., 8000 and 8100 blocks, and HOPEWELL AVE., 1000 block, 8 a.m. Jan. 8 to 8 a.m. Jan. 12. Eight vehicles were entered, seven of them by force. Property was stolen from four of the vehicles.

CEDAR AVE., 7100 block, 8 p.m. Jan. 10 to 8 a.m. Jan. 11. Property was stolen from a vehicle entered by force.

UNIVERSITY BLVD., 1000 block, 5:30 p.m. Jan. 11 to 8 a.m. Jan. 12. Property was stolen from a dental office entered by force.
