The son of a Navy captain, Frank Michael Murphy was born in Honolulu and finished high school in Coldwater, Mich. He was a 1976 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis and later graduated from the Naval War College in Newport, R.I.

Cmdr. Murphy worked for Anteon as a program manager before joining Battelle Memorial as a business developer about four years ago. He moved to Florida from Annapolis in 2008.

His marriages to Lisa Norris Murphy and Karen Hall Murphy ended in divorce.

Survivors include his wife of three years, Patty Siegle Murphy of Riverview; a son from his first marriage, Charles "Chad" Murphy of Herndon; a son from his second marriage, Marshall Murphy of Springfield; his mother, Margaret Murphy of Coldwater; three brothers; and a sister.

Barbara Livingston Advertising Firm Owner

Barbara Livingston, 63, who owned two advertising companies in the Washington area, died Jan. 20 at a hospice in Auburn, Maine. She had breast cancer.

Mrs. Livingston spent more than a decade working at an advertising company she founded, Media Sales Group, until she moved to Maine in 1992. Earlier, she had been a co-founder and partner in the D.C. area advertising agency Earnest, Lurie and Mitchell.

From 1998 to 2008, she was the marketing and publications coordinator for Central Maine Community College. She also managed the school's satellite campus in South Paris, Maine.

In addition, she founded an after-school day-care program that provided arts instruction to elementary and middle-school students, which she operated from 1993 to 1998.

Barbara Rehmeyer was born in York, Pa., and grew up in Alexandria, where she was a 1963 graduate of the old Groveton High School. She received a general studies degree from Central Maine Community College in 2003.
