Nearly all of tonight's Washington-area high school basketball schedule was postponed because of today's snow and the forecast for more inclement weather. Most school systems either were closed today or cancelled all after-school and evening activities.

Among those jurisdictions canceling tonight's games: Montgomery, Prince George's Frederick, Howard, Charles and Anne Arundel counties in Maryland; Fairfax, Arlington, Prince William, Stafford, Loudoun, Clarke and Culpeper counties in Virginia, as well as the cities of Manassas and Manassas Park.

As of this afternoon, only a handful of tonight's games had been rescheduled. The marquee boys' game, with 13th-ranked Landon at eighth-ranked Georgetown Prep, however, was reset for tomorrow night at 6 p.m. Among other games with new dates, most of the games between Prince George's County public schools were moved to Thursday. No. 5 Bishop McNamara will play at St. Mary's Ryken on Feb. 5.
