The Lakers expected to receive the results of an MRI exam on C Andrew Bynum's right knee injury last night.
Bynum was hurt in the first quarter of Saturday night's win at Memphis. G Kobe Bryant drove to the basket, missed the shot and crashed into Bynum's right leg. Bynum immediately grabbed his knee.
Bynum missed the final 46 games of last season with a left knee injury. He is averaging 14.0 points and 8.2 rebounds.
"Everybody's just upset for him and disappointed for him," Bryant said.
· CELTICS: F Kevin Garnett missed yesterday's game against the Timberwolves with a high fever, and Coach Doc Rivers said the all-star will probably miss tomorrow night's game against the 76ers as well.
"He's sick. He's really bad. His fever's really high," Rivers said. "He's not playing today. He's probably not playing Tuesday. For him to be out of any game, especially today, he's got to be pretty sick."
Glen "Big Baby" Davis started in his place. . . .
C Kendrick Perkins was fined $10,000 by the NBA for a flagrant foul on Detroit's Jason Maxiell that led to Perkins's ejection on Friday night.
Perkins said he would not appeal. "I think it's right. I think justice was served," he said. "I can pay that fine."
Perkins pulled Maxiell to the floor by the neck while Maxiell was trying to put back an offensive rebound.
· HEAT: F Shawn Marion worked out and could be nearing his return from a strained left groin, but G Daequan Cook will likely miss at least one game with a bruised left thigh.
Marion has been sidelined for much of the past two weeks with the injury. He's expected to be a game-time decision against the Clippers tonight.
