Timeline of major suicide attacks in Kabul:

· June 7, 2003 -- Four German soldiers on a bus are killed by a suicide car bomber.

· Sept. 28, 2005 -- Eight staff members of an Afghan army training center and a civilian driver die in a suicide bomb attack.

· Sept. 18, 2006 -- Sixteen people are killed near the U.S. Embassy in a suicide car bomb attack.

· June 17, 2007 -- A suicide bomber rams a police bus, killing 35 people, most of them police officers.

· Sept. 29, 2007 -- A suicide bomber destroys a military bus, killing 30.

· March 13, 2008 -- Six civilians die when a suicide car bomber rams a convoy of U.S. troops near Kabul International Airport.

· May 29, 2008 -- A suicide bomber kills three Afghan civilians. A vehicle carrying foreigners was the apparent target, but the foreigners were unharmed.

· July 7, 2008 -- The Indian Embassy is attacked by a suicide car bomber ramming its gates. More than 60 people are killed.

· Aug. 11, 2008 -- A suicide car bomber rams a NATO convoy, but kills three civilians.

· Aug. 30, 2008 -- A suicide car bomber attacks a NATO convoy just outside of Kabul, but kills only himself.

· Oct. 31, 2008 -- Insurgents attack the Ministry of Information and Culture; one blows himself up, killing five people.
