All-star PG Chris Paul returned to the starting lineup as the Hornets hosted the Celtics last night. He finished with 13 points and five assists in 31 minutes.
New Orleans Coach Byron Scott said before tip-off that Paul's four-game absence, caused by a strained right groin, was over and that Paul was ready to play.
Scott said he'd seen Paul run full speed in two workouts leading up to last night's game and that trainers cleared Paul to play the day before the game.
· RAPTORS: PG José Calderón missed last night's game against the Spurs because of a sore right hamstring, the same injury that sidelined him for 10 games in January and two in November.
· SUNS: PG Steve Nash sat out last night's game against the Cavaliers for some much-needed rest.
Nash left Monday night's game against the 76ers in the third quarter and said his back, shoulder and hamstring have been bothering him.
· ROCKETS: G Tracy McGrady sat out last night's game against the Kings and wanted to confer with a team doctor about his troublesome left knee.
McGrady had an MRI exam yesterday.
The seven-time all-star has missed 17 games this season with soreness in the knee, the lingering effects of arthroscopic surgery last May.
· CLIPPERS: Elgin Baylor, the team's former general manager who was dismissed last fall after 22 years, has sued the team, the NBA and team owner Donald Sterling alleging employment discrimination.
Baylor's attorney, Carl Douglas, said the lawsuit was filed yesterday in Los Angeles Superior Court.
