When: Noon. Where: Patriot Center. Records: Patriots 16-8, 9-5 Colonial Athletic Association; Huskies 16-8, 11-3. TV: Comcast SportsNet. Radio: WTNT (570 AM).
FALLING BACK: A few weeks ago, the Patriots were among three teams in the hunt for the top seed in the CAA tournament, but after losing five of seven, they find themselves in a battle to secure a top-four finish and a first-round bye. While Northeastern and Virginia Commonwealth are tied for first, George Mason is even with Drexel and only one game ahead of Hofstra, Old Dominion and James Madison with four games remaining.
COLD FROM THE LINE: The Patriots shot 50 percent from the field during Thursday's 66-58 loss at Delaware but missed all nine three-point attempts and were 10 of 23 from the free throw line, making them 21 of 42 in the past two games and dropping their season percentage to 66.6. Senior F Darryl Monroe shot 12 of 15 from the field for a career-high 27 points against the Blue Hens but was 3 of 10 from the foul line. George Mason is 11-0 at home.
STRONG ON THE ROAD: The Huskies have lost two of three, including a 62-58 decision at home against Drexel on Wednesday, but are 5-2 in CAA road games; their 8-5 overall away record is the best in the league. They are yielding the fewest points in the CAA (60.1) and are second in free throw percentage (74.3). Junior G Matt Janning is averaging 15.3 points and 4.6 rebounds for the Huskies, who edged the Patriots, 58-57, on Jan. 21 in Boston.
