Battle of the Drum Lines

More than 50 high schools from as far away as Virginia Beach will participate in a winter guard and drum line competition from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday. Potomac Falls High School is hosting the program, called "Symphony of Design," for the fourth consecutive year. Tickets are $10; senior citizens and children 12 and younger, $7. Master Singers in Concert

The choral group Master Singers of Virginia will perform "In the Snows of England and France" at 8 p.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Way Lutheran Church, 43115 Waxpool Rd., in Ashburn. A pre-concert lecture will begin at 7:15 p.m. The same program, featuring music by Francis Poulenc, Benjamin Britten and other composers, will be performed at 8 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Franklin Park Performing Arts Center in Purcellville. Swashbuckling Time at Symphony

The Loudoun Symphony and Loudoun Ballet Company team up for a family-oriented concert, "Pirates and Princesses." Children are invited to attend in costume. The free program is at 4 p.m. Saturday at Loudoun County High School in Leesburg, with a snow date of Feb. 28 at Stone Bridge High School.
