- Local cookbook author Nancy Baggett's new "Kneadlessly Simple: Fabulous, Fuss-Free, No-Knead Breads" (Wiley, 2009) picks up where she left off in December when the Food section ran two of her bread recipes as holiday gift mixes. Her Going With the Grain loaf, shown here, could be mistaken for a pricey artisan product, but it can be assembled as a mix as well. $24.95, available in major bookstores and on Amazon.com.

- Jill Rabin and Roma Campanaro, a.k.a. the Crab Ladies, have added Gluten-Free Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes to their three-flavor line. The crab cakes are made with sweet rice flour and tapioca flour and are available in these Whole Foods Markets: Gaithersburg/Kentlands, Rockville, Silver Spring, Annapolis and Harbour-East Baltimore in Maryland; Tenley in the District; Vienna in Virginia. This weekend, the Ladies will introduce their new product at the Fair Lakes store.
