World Cultures to Be Featured At Cold Spring Elementary

Cold Spring Elementary School, 9201 Falls Chapel Way in Potomac, will present an international fair from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Nations will be represented at tables, which will feature books, music, posters, movies, food, art, currency, maps and activities that reflect their cultures. Dance clubs and other members of the Cold Spring community will give cultural performances.

Supply Drive Launched For Gaithersburg Students

Gaithersburg's Education Committee and Division of Community Services are collecting school supplies through next month for the Gaithersburg Recognizing Educational Achievement Today program. The supplies will be distributed to Gaithersburg area schools to replenish items that tend to run low in the second half of the school year.

Needed supplies include stickers, notebook dividers, scissors, glue sticks, loose-leaf paper, backpacks, solid-color folders, three-ring binders, pencil pouches, crayons, summer reading books, small pencil sharpeners, colored and No. 2 pencils, red and black Sharpies, washable markers, yellow highlighters, hand sanitizer and Ziploc bags.

Donations can be dropped off from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday until the end of next month, at the Community Services office in the Wells/Robertson House, 1 Wells Ave. in Gaithersburg. Scholarships Available For Montgomery College

The Montgomery County Public Schools Educational Foundation has established a scholarship fund to benefit public high school seniors who plan to attend Montgomery College.

Scholarships will range from $500 to $3,000 and could be renewable through the completion of an associate's degree, if funding is available. To be eligible, students must:

-- demonstrate financial need and strong academic potential.

-- have a minimum high school grade-point average of 2.0.
