Metro Chairman Jim Graham said that frequent night meetings make mass transit inconvenient for him ["Metro Use a Rarity for Half of Board," Metro, Feb. 22]. I know exactly how he feels. But I don't have the advantage of a city parking space, and I actually ride the Metro on weekday evenings. Maybe if Mr. Graham had to wait more than 15 minutes for a train and then 25-plus minutes for a bus, he would be a little more motivated to do something about Metro's inconvenient and inadequate weekday evening service.

How hard would it be to run trains with half as many cars twice as frequently? Sure, it might cost more. But perhaps Metro's recent layoff of administrators will be a good first step toward spending money where it matters.
