Girls' Final: No. 5 Good Counsel (26-3) vs. No. 13 Holy Cross (22-7).

When: 6:30 p.m.

Where: American University's Bender Arena.

When Good Counsel Has the Ball: Excellent perimeter passing defines the Falcons' attack. Once they find an opening, look for Katie Sheahin or Gillian Abshire to attack the basket and either go to the hoop or find an open shooter on the outside. Holy Cross, with its tough full-court pressure, will try to keep Good Counsel from settling into a half-court game.

When Holy Cross Has the Ball: The Tartans will try to push the tempo. While they don't make it look pretty, their edge in speed helps them take opponents out of their game. Tyonna Williams and Natasha Thames are their top scorers, but Lia Henry is solid from the outside.

Intangibles: Good Counsel, which won the title in 2005 and '06, finished first in the WCAC, followed by Holy Cross, the 2007 champion. The Falcons won both regular season meetings, 67-65, on Dec. 14, and, 48-41, on Jan. 23. Since that game, Holy Cross has won 12 straight. Good Counsel, meantime, has won 17 in a row.
