Don't Need Help

The following non-BCS conferences seemingly have locks for at-large bids but few, if any, other likely candidates. That means, if anyone else wins their conference tournaments, that will mean one less available at-large spot.

ATLANTIC 10: Xavier is in regardless, and Dayton has a strong chance. Rhode Island and Temple have outside shots.

CONFERENCE USA: Unless Memphis loses, the Tigers are the only team getting in.

HORIZON: Unless Butler loses, the Bulldogs are the only team getting in.

WEST COAST: Gonzaga is in regardless, and only St. Mary's has a remote shot.

MOUNTAIN WEST: BYU and Utah are in regardless. UNLV has a decent chance; San Diego State has an outside chance.

Could Cloud Picture

The following non-BCS conferences feature teams that might have outside shots at at-large bids, so if those teams don't win their conference tournaments, the pool of at-large hopefuls will grow.

MISSOURI VALLEY: Creighton has a strong, but not watertight, case to get in.

METRO ATLANTIC: Siena has a good RPI ranking despite no great wins.

SOUTHERN: Last year's tournament darling, Davidson, likely won't get at-large berth.

WAC: Utah State has a gaudy record against an underwhelming schedule.

LOCAL OUTLOOK

American (22-7, 13-1): First in the Patriot League.

George Mason (20-9, 13-5): Like American, must win conference tournament for a bid.

George Washington (10-17, 4-11): Not even ensured Atlantic 10 tournament bid.

Georgetown (15-13, 6-11): Loss to St. John's likely killed at-large chances.
