Foul play is not suspected, said Metro spokesman Steven Taubenkibel. He said Metro Transit Police are investigating the incident.

"They still have a lot of work to do to figure out how the person ended up on the tracks," Taubenkibel said yesterday afternoon.

The Orange Line train, bound for New Carrollton, struck the man at 1:44 a.m., Metro officials said. They were withholding the victim's identity pending notification of family.

On Friday, Metrobus driver Kurtland Johnson, 42, of Washington jumped onto the tracks at the McPherson Square Station and was struck and killed by a Blue Line train, Metro officials said.
