District police said they have arrested a third suspect in the robbery-slayings of Michael and Virginia Spevak, who were found dead Nov. 22 in their house in the Chevy Chase area of Northwest Washington.
Jose Gilberto Portillo, 21, was arrested Saturday and charged with two counts of felony murder while armed, police said. Michael, 68, a psychiatrist, and Virginia, 67, a former teacher, were bound, beaten to death with a blunt instrument and robbed of computers and other electronic equipment, according to investigators.
The other suspects, Peiro Fuentes Hernandez, 21, and Angela Hernandez, 20, were charged with murder shortly after the killings.
