Seth Curry To Transfer

Seth Curry, the high-scoring younger brother of Davidson star Stephen Curry, says he is transferring out of Liberty to seek a higher level of competition.

Seth Curry, 6 feet 3 and 180 pounds, led the nation's freshmen with a 20.2 scoring average.

Liberty went 23-12 this season, finishing with an 88-65 loss to James Madison on Monday night in the tournament. Curry scored eight points in the loss.

There was no indication in the release whether Curry has already decided where to transfer, and the school said Curry would not have any additional comment. . . .

The Atlantic 10 Conference is keeping its men's basketball tournament in Atlantic City for another three years.

The league had considered moving the event after getting offers from Pittsburgh, Dayton, Cincinnati and Springfield, Mass., but decided to stay in the seaside casino resort where the championship has been held for the past three years.


Iverson Ruling

Allen Iverson must pay $260,000 for standing idly by and watching his bodyguard beat up another man in a 2005 bar fight, a federal appeals court ruled.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit rejected the Detroit Pistons guard's attempt to throw out the verdict decided by a jury in 2007. . . .

Linas Kleiza of the Denver Nuggets has been fined $25,000 for verbal abuse of officials after a game in Denver on Friday. The NBA announced the fine but didn't disclose what Kleiza said to the officials.

The Nuggets beat the Washington Wizards, 116-105, in that game.
