Interim coach Ed Tapscott said guard Gilbert Arenas is on pace for making his long-awaited return to game action Saturday night when the Wizards host the Detroit Pistons.

Arenas, who has yet to play this season on a left knee that has undergone three surgical procedures, practiced Tuesday and went through yesterday's morning shoot-around with no problems. He also conducted a lengthy shooting session before last night's game.

The team will have two more practices before Saturday's game, giving Arenas a little more time to sharpen up. Tapscott said the tentative plan calls for Arenas to play in the final four home games and possibly two road games: at Cleveland on April 8 and at Boston on April 15.

"The plan is still holding," Tapscott said. "It's T-minus three days or whatever but we're on schedule for Saturday night."

Arenas didn't address his status for Saturday during a pregame chat with reporters but he did discuss something else that used to be part of his identity: the blog he wrote for

Arenas hasn't written a blog entry since November and said he doesn't plan on doing so anytime soon though it's worth remembering that he's a guy who changes his mind quickly.

"Before it was fun and everybody had fun reading it but then, everything I said, everybody started using it as firepower instead of entertainment," Arenas said. "People started taking bits and pieces instead of just enjoying the blog so once I started seeing that, I felt it was a [double-edged sword]. So I might as well stop."
