Sally G. Hamilton Accountant, Mortgage Specialist

Sally G. Hamilton, 47, who had been a senior loan officer at National City Mortgage in Fairfax City since 2001, died March 13 at her home in Vienna. She had breast cancer.

Ms. Hamilton was an auditor with the Defense and State departments from 1985 to 1990. She later was a loan officer at several financial groups in Northern Virginia and an audit manager with Ernst and Young in Washington and Cotton & Company in Alexandria.

Sally Gaye Hamilton, a Fairfax County native, graduated from Oakton High School in 1979 and received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Virginia Tech in 1984.

She was a member of the Rotary Club of Vienna and served on the board of directors of the Hunters Valley Riding Club in Vienna. She was a past secretary and treasurer of Fairfax4Horses, which promotes horseback riding in Fairfax County.

Survivors include her husband of one year, Sam Wheeler of Vienna; her parents, James and Nancy Hamilton of Oakton; a brother, John Hamilton of Herndon; and a sister, Susan Kornides of Granville, Ohio.

Michael John Eagen Accountant

Michael John Eagen, 42, a retired accountant for the U.S. Public Health Service, died after a cardiovascular accident March 28 at Suburban Hospital. He lived in Dickerson, Md.

Mr. Eagen was born at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, and graduated from Robert E. Peary High School in Rockville and from Frostburg State University in Maryland. He worked for the Defense Department in the audit agency and the inspector general's office. He later joined the Public Health Service, where he worked until 2002.
