Movement on the Kinetic Energy Front

Interior Secretary Ken Salazar and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission Chairman Jon Wellinghoff signed a memorandum of understanding on Thursday clearing the way for developing wind, solar, wave, tidal and ocean current energy sources on the outer continental shelf.

The agreement removes regulatory barriers and establishes jurisdiction for licensing projects with the commission and Interior's Minerals Management Service.
