Harry P. Zakas pleaded guilty in March of last year to wire fraud and tax evasion, admitting that he stole the money from his software firm, Intelli7, in 2005 and 2006.

He used the money to pay for stays at a posh hotel and for tabs at nightclubs, prosecutors said.

Zakas admitted that he did not pay $285,000 in federal income taxes for those years, prosecutors said.

U.S. District Judge James Robertson also ordered Zakas to pay $860,000 in restitution to an investor and the federal and D.C. governments
