NSO's 'Brava' for Jordan

It's nice to know you'll be missed: After seven years, Ann Jordan is signing off as chairwoman of the National Symphony Orchestra's board -- and the NSO and Kennedy Center sent her off in style.

After intermission at Thursday night's NSO concert, Kennedy Center Chairman Stephen Schwarzman took the stage to praise Jordan's role in securing the NSO's current principal conductor, Iván Fischer, and music director, Christoph Eschenbach, and lauded Jordan's work to set up the orchestra's upcoming tour in China. And Principal Pops Conductor Marvin Hamlisch played a song written especially for the social titan, wife of D.C. lawyer Vernon Jordan.

At a post-concert reception, White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett mingled with other guests while waitstaff made the rounds with mini-hot dogs, mini-hamburgers and tiny portions of mac and cheese. An NSO spokesperson explained that Jordan always said she preferred a ballpark hot dog over a fancy catered reception. Here's to having it both ways.

Kilmer: Off the Ranch?

Is Val Kilmer looking to fill his campaign coffers? The actor, a potential candidate for New Mexico's governorship, has put his Santa Fe ranch on the market for $33 million.

The 6,000-acre ranch, a fishery and wildlife habitat replete with bears and bobcats includes almost six miles of Pecos River frontage. Also included are a Southwest-style main house (nearly 5,600 square feet), a smaller caretaker's home and various barns, garages and guest houses, the Associated Press reports.

Kilmer, 49, has lived in New Mexico for more than 20 years. He told the Wall Street Journal he's listing the ranch so "someone who has the time and the finances" can maintain the property. But a successful sale could provide seed money for Kilmer's political ambitions: He's made it known he's considering a run against New Mexico Lt. Gov. Diane Denish in next year's Democratic primary, and he recently spent several days networking in Washington.

Another Chance for O'Neal

The son of Farrah Fawcett and Ryan O'Neal is getting another chance to kick his drug habit, AP reports.

Yesterday, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge transferred two felony drug cases against Redmond O'Neal to a court that could send him to a stringent rehab program. But the judge warned the 24-year-old that if he fails at rehab -- as he has at least three times -- he's going to prison for at least three years.

O'Neal, in a jail jumpsuit, told the judge he is ashamed of himself for recent relapses, including his April 5 arrest for allegedly taking heroin to a Los Angeles area jail facility.

"I'm just really upset with myself," O'Neal said at one point during the hearing. Citing his mother's ailing health as motivation to stay clean, O'Neal said Fawcett -- who has cancer -- weighs roughly 86 pounds.

Neither Fawcett nor Ryan O'Neal was in attendance.

End Notes

Expecting: Heidi Klum, 35. The baby will be the supermodel's fourth, joining Henry and Johan -- her sons with husband Seal, 46 -- and daughter Leni, whose dad is Italian businessman Flavio Briatore. Seal confirmed the news from the stage while performing in New York City on Thursday night.

Spotted: Actors Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jamie Kennedy grabbing breakfast at a Friendship Heights Cosi yesterday. Kennedy -- who never took his sunglasses off -- is in town for a two-night stand-up stint at Arlington Cinema 'N' Drafthouse. Girlfriend Hewitt (vest, dark jeans, gorgeous hair) is along for moral support.

Quoted: "Absolutely not. I'm done -- eight is enough. I'm the original Octomom!" -- Marie Osmond to OK! Magazine, on why she's not considering adopting more children. The entertainer turns 50 this year.
