You know that feeling of accomplishment that hits when you pass the halfway mark of your workout? Well, pat yourselves on the back: We're in the home stretch of the MisFits columnist contest, with its coveted grand prize of getting to switch off with me in this space.

This Story

On the schedule today is our punk rocker, a gal who hasn't set foot in a gym in years but has plans to slim down via more inventive means. Probably while wearing lots of eye makeup and a MisFits band T-shirt. (She has one with a skull on it. I'm a little jealous.)

Anyway, the idea of unusual exercise routines resonated with voters in our online poll, where she pulled down 14 percent of almost 6,000 tallies, for a second-place finish. "I like to practice my mosh pit moves in front of the mirror at home," one revealed. Sounds like a good warm-up for strapping on skates and taking on the ladies of the local roller derby leagues.

Is she a hit or a body slam? My editors will be weighing in. And if you have thoughts of your own, let us know at health@washpost.com.

We'll meet back here next week with our final contender, the self-taught (and injury-prone) triathlete.
