| Team | Draft Summary | Grade | Picks |
Arizona Cardinals | Defending NFC champs didn't trade WR Anquan Boldin to add picks but did pretty well with what they had. Got RB help when Chris Wells fell to them at 31st overall and added a pass rusher in second-round DE/LB Cody Brown. | B
Atlanta Falcons | DT Peria Jerry was worth the 24th pick, and second-round S William Moore has the talent to be a starter but was plagued by uneven play and a foot injury last season. | B-
Baltimore Ravens | Trade for Boldin would have been a home run, but Ravens still did very well. Getting T Michael Oher at No. 23 was a terrific pick. Second-round DE Paul Kruger could help in pass-rush situations. | B+
Buffalo Bills | Would have been nice to have landed a big-time left tackle to replace traded Jason Peters, but Bills did end up with four of the draft's first 51 picks. Got a top pass rusher in Aaron Maybin, and CB Jairus Byrd was a good second-round value. | B
Carolina Panthers | Panthers didn't have a first-rounder but got first-round value in the second round in pass rusher Everette Brown. Second-round S Sherrod Martin could be an immediate contributor. | B
Chicago Bears | Bears gave up plenty in their recent trade for QB Jay Cutler, perhaps a bit too much, and didn't pick until the third round. Their top selection, DT Jarron Gilbert, could be an impact player. | C+
Cincinnati Bengals | Did extremely well getting a big-time left tackle at sixth overall in Andre Smith, a first-round talent in LB Rey Maualuga in the second and gifted DE Michael Johnson and solid TE Chase Coffman in the third round. | A-
Cleveland Browns | Browns were in need of an impact player, especially on defense, but didn't get one after trading down repeatedly in the first round before taking C Alex Mack. Did well with second-rounders in WRs Brian Robiskie and Mohamed Massaquoi and DE David Veikune. | C-
Dallas Cowboys | Cowboys didn't have a pick in either of the first two rounds, and their two third-rounders, LB Jason Williams and T Robert Brewster, don't look like immediate contributors. | C-
Denver Broncos | Got possible immediate offensive centerpiece in RB Knowshon Moreno and a solid defender in DE Robert Ayers, both in the first round, and a solid CB in the second round in Alphonso Smith. | A-
Detroit Lions | You're supposed to do well when you have the first pick, and they made the right moves with potential franchise QB Matthew Stafford, TE Brandon Pettigrew later in the first round and other solid picks in second-round S Louis Delmas and third-round WR Derrick Williams. | B+
Green Bay Packers | Packers significantly upgraded their defense with their two first-rounders, DT B.J. Raji and LB Clay Matthews, who's also a superb special-teams player. | A
Houston Texans | LB Brian Cushing was worth the 15th pick, and second-round DE Connor Barwin and third-round C-G Antoine Caldwell were decent values. | B
Indianapolis Colts | Got RB Donald Brown in the first round and turned to defense with DT Fili Moala in the second round and CB Jerraud Powers in the third. Perhaps they should have first addressed their defensive front seven. | C+
Jacksonville Jaguars | Offensive line was upgraded significantly with two tackles, Eugene Monroe in the first round and Eben Britton in the second. Defense got some help later. | B+
Kansas City Chiefs | DE Tyson Jackson had better be a very good player because Chiefs passed up perhaps the surest thing in the draft, LB Aaron Curry, to take him. | C-
Miami Dolphins | First-round CB Vontae Davis is talented, but some teams had concerns about whether he'll play up to his potential. QB Pat White might not have been worth a second-rounder to other teams, but it was a justified selection for the Dolphins because of his potential in the Wildcat offense. | C+
Minnesota Vikings | WR Percy Harvin could be the steal of the draft at 22nd overall. Other clubs were wary of him, especially after a recent report by Fox he tested positive for marijuana at the NFL scouting combine. Second-round T Phil Loadholt could help. | B-
New England Patriots | Patriots amassed four second-round picks and helped their secondary in particular with S Patrick Chung and CB Darius Butler. | B
New Orleans Saints | Saints needed a workhorse running back but didn't get one. They did get Malcolm Jenkins, the first cornerback drafted, but some in the league wonder if he's better suited to playing safety. | C-
New York Giants | This is a Super Bowl-ready team in so many areas, and a trade for Boldin or Braylon Edwards should have been made to replace WR Plaxico Burress. First-rounder Hakeem Nicks might be the answer, but recent draft history says there's a good chance he's not. | C-
New York Jets | Not much quantity, but plenty of quality. They got QB Mark Sanchez, and the price to trade up was reasonable. Adding RB Shonn Greene in the third round was a bonus. | A
Oakland Raiders | WR Darrius Heyward-Bey might be very good in the NFL. But if the Raiders wanted Heyward-Bey, they didn't need to use the seventh selection to get him. And they didn't need to use a second-rounder to get S Mike Mitchell. | D+
Philadelphia Eagles | Got potential impact player in WR Jeremy Maclin and RB LeSean McCoy to help Brian Westbrook. Wasn't much else that needed to be done, and they also traded for CB Ellis Hobbs. | B+
Pittsburgh Steelers | First-round DT Evander Hood should help some, but the Super Bowl champs really needed a solid young tackle who eventually could help QB Ben Roethlisberger avoid taking so many hits. | C-
St. Louis Rams | Taking T Jason Smith was the right thing to do at second overall, and getting LB James Laurinaitis three picks into the second round was a sound move as well. | B+
San Diego Chargers | First-round pass rusher Larry English was a good value pick at 16th overall, and the Chargers restocked the middle of their offensive line. | B-
San Francisco 49ers | It's at least as important to be lucky as smart on draft weekend, and the 49ers benefited from WR Michael Crabtree falling to them at 10th. Getting QB Nate Davis in the fifth round was a good move too. | B
Seattle Seahawks | LB Curry should be an immediate difference-maker, and Max Unger, a versatile offensive lineman taken in the second round, could be an extremely useful player. | B+
Tampa Bay Buccaneers | Bucs continue to stockpile quarterbacks even with Jon Gruden gone, getting Josh Freeman in the first round. They focused on linemen thereafter but did little to change their team in the short term. | C-
Tennessee Titans | Titans filled big needs with WR Kenny Britt in the opening round and DT Sen'Derrick Marks in the second round. | B
Washington Redskins | Redskins were saved from themselves when they were unable to trade up for Sanchez and filled a huge pass-rushing need by getting Brian Orakpo 13th overall. Some offensive line help would have been nice too, but taking Maryland CB Kevin Barnes in the third round was fine. | B |
