Search marketing tech firm Marin Software has raised $13 million in a third round of funding. DAG Ventures led the round; previous investors Benchmark Capital and Amicus Capital also participated, along with new investor Focus Ventures. S.F.-based Marin says it has raised $25 million in total, including a $7.25 million second round last year. Its first round was undisclosed.
Clients like ZipRealty and Microsoft's Razorfish use Marin's paid search campaign management, bid optimization and analytics software. The company says it manages over $300 million worth of paid search spend annually, and opened its first overseas office in London last month. Given that search is one of the few ad categories slated for growth this year, it's also one of the areas we've seen consistent mid-stage investments in: fellow search tech firm Kenshoo picked up a second round of funding in March, and Enquisite raised an $8 million second round for search and analytics in February.
